The Casemate Museum Foundation (CMF) is a 501(c)3 non profit established in 1983 to raise funds to support the mission of the Casemate Museum at Fort Monroe, Virginia.
The Casemate Museum was operated by the U.S. Army until the fort was deactivated in 2011. The museum's principal funding now comes from the Commonwealth of Virginia through the Fort Monroe Authority, but CMF remains an essential partner in the museum's success.
CMF raises funds through a museum store, memberships, donations, and special events. These funds are used to support the museum’s greatest needs including exhibits, programs, events, and staff development. The museum interprets the vast and rich history of the site for diverse audiences.
CMF sponsors museum exhibits such as "A Window In Time" highlighting the unique stained glass windows in the Chapel of the Centurion.
